COMMUNITY HERITAGE ROOM

The Community Heritage Room has been set up at Age Concern Calderdale’s Park Road offices. It currently houses material from our previous oral history project Voices from the Past and includes information boards, sound interviews, photos, books and objects. The room has been a successful venue for groups and we will be developing it further in the autumn - establishing drop in sessions and a history group.

REMINISCENCE GROUPS

Chris Helme from Calderdale Council’s Adult & Community Learning tutored a six week reminiscence group at Age Concern Calderdale’s Park Road Heritage Room. The group discussed their own memories of sport and leisure in Calderdale and produced a booklet called ‘Those Were the Days’. A second group will be starting at the St John’s Day Care Centre in Todmorden on Monday 18th June, for six weeks.
